I am interested in writing a piece about Audio gaming for a webpage that talks about Video Games in general and I was curious about the history. I know that way back we were able to play a lot of the text adventure games, then I don't know if there was anything for us but the Jim Kitchen Dos games. After that were a few Window's titles by him and then Grizzly Gultch.
Am I missing important or groundbreaking titles in between? I would appreciate any relavent history. I know we are in a bit of a boom right now, and can look up a lot of that stuff, but I know nothing of the "Dos and before era" Help please.
decent in to madness, detective for hire, light locator
Thanks.. will I be able to find out about these elsewhere, or do you have any particular history on the games, premise, year made, produced by, genre.. Any of those types of things would help.
I think GMA Games may have made some dos-based titles, but I'm not completely sure. Please keep us updated on your research. This is an interesting topic.
Yes i agree with Chriss a very interesting project.
A good place you could ask for audiogame history could be the website www.audiogames.net. They have got a good forum with a lot of gamers ranging from advanced to beginners and different ages as well. Also game developers are involved with the forum so i am sure they could help you out.
Another website you could look is www.audyssey.org
It is a monthly magasine about audio games and also there is a maling list you could join and ask questions.
Hope you find these websites usefull and good luck.
Thank you, I will keep you all updated. I will definately check out those websites, and if I get the permission will give you all the link to the finished project. It can't be huge in scope, this time, but I hope maybe to start writing more regular articles for the site if it works out well.
